Yep, a year later I'm still missing the old compass. Why? Because you could point your body at the drone and get a general idea of where it is. That is still more useful than trying to see how windy it might be up there, though it doesn't have to be one or the other. The compass can help you make interesting S-turn type routes back to the controller. I use it all the time, and for me the map alternative for me is more for a lost drone after it's crashed somewhere, or possibly for getting a birdseye view of the area before flight. I only use Return to Home when it's engaged automatically, because I'm out of range. As soon as it's back in range I resume control and use the compass to know how to get home. You missed the whole point of the "blue dot" (controller location) and how it can be different than the home point. Such is the case, for example, when flying from a boat. It seems simple but if you're seeing three distinct points on the compass for the first time while out on the water then you won't be ready to depend on the compass. It would be cool to see you working the compass out in the field, hands-on.

I just got my mini 2 and was wondering why mine didn't have the orientation in the lower center like in all the videos I've watched. I was pretty frustrated until you showed me about this update I apparently have. Thanks for an up to date explanation!
I just figured out how to switch over and get the "attitude indicator" on screen, and my first flight made me nervous with it up. My two hash marks indicated that the drone was struggling significantly against the wind. I had about 10-12 mph wind AGL, apparently it was dealing with a lot more at 200 ft. I brought it down and packed it away in it's case to fly again another day

Been trying to workout how I get this compas up. So I've just gone to try find it. But I don't have that little icon on the bottom right of my map? I'm up to date and also checked to see if any more are out there but there's not? Any suggestions?
