We go to Koh Samet a few times every year. It's a great getaway, 2 hours from home.

It’s strange seeing all the concrete roads on Koh Samet. 15 years ago the concrete road only went as far as those 7/11’s then just dirt. It used to be an off-road adventure getting to the southern point. Beautiful island 💙

Our favourite holiday beach over the years. It has its own charm.
I note that most of the resort beaches are on the eastern side of the island. When you were heading to the southern tip, were there any beaches accessible on the RHS (western) side of the island?

Was there 20 years ago…looks like very big changes…for the worst..
One of the amazing things to me is how many dogs you come across and the fact that they are relatively tame. To hear from others I knew there were "wild" dogs but they made it sound like so many of them were aggressive and would chase you down. Reminds me of all the ferrell cats we have in my area.
