Hey Alex. Just saw your video on the Athenee and I must say that you've made me a believer. I'm traveling to Bangkok in October 2022 and I was torn between the Shangri-La and the Athenee. Your video, and other research have pushed me over the top to go with the Athenee. I can't wait. Everything about the hotel exudes class and luxury. Like one of your other subscribers, I see the value in staying in a less expensive hotel, and I will probably resort to that strategy on subsequent trips (I've already been to Bangkok twice, but now that I'm retired I plan to make it an annual journey), but for this trip, I'm 'puttin on the Ritz (or I guess that would be puttin' on the Athenee. I particularly liked the club lounge and I look forward to it as a place to chill when I return in the afternoon/evenings from very hot days (in any season) in Bangkok. I hope I can afford one of the rooms that includes access to the lounge.
Anyway, thanks again. Good work. Keep it up.

P.S. The first time I went to Bangkok, about ten years ago, I tried papaya, squirted with lime juice for the first time and loved it. That scene brought back memories.
When I’m there, I stay away from the luxury hotels. I don’t travel to go to luxury hotels. I can stay in my own country if that’s what I want.
I don’t see why I should spend all that money when I only use my rooms to sleep and shower. If I’m not sleeping or having a shower, I’m out in the city exploring.
I save my money and just stay in clean, but cheap hotels. Usually close to Khao San Road, but sometimes other areas of the city. $20 per night. If I stay a few months, I can rent an apartment a bit further from the center of the city for even a much better deal.
Chiang Mai, Thailand is another favourite city of mine, and Siem Reap, Cambodia. In both cities, I rent an apartment. And the cost per month to me, is what other people would spend on a hotel room per night.
If I want to stay in luxury hotels, I can just stay in my country of Canada. Lots of luxury hotels in Canada I can spend my money on.
