That first guesthouse are taking the piss surely, no fridge, no jug and I didn’t spot a TV either. Having cold water on hand in the middle of the night after dumping 16 Leo’s in the afternoon/ evening is absolutely essential.

wonderful video Ed, no fridge or kettle outrageous, I will tell you a true story, I once arrived late at night in Pagadian city, Philippines, with my Filipina, no booking we were there to meet her parents, the only hotel that had a room was one that had no windows, just one night, you had to turn the air-con on to cool down, so noisy you could not sleep, turn it off, 10 minutes later was unbearable with the heat, so you had to turn the air-con back on

No fridge and no kettle would be a no go for me. Liked the bungalow, though. Nice views. Enjoy yourself on Samui.
First hotel very basic room not bad for the price but I couldn't do without a fridge. Think you could get something better for a bit more money but I understand that traveling for 4/5 months you cannot live like a two week millionaire. Think people who moan about your hotel picks forget that. It does add up. I blew a grand in 4 days in Bangkok a few years ago. That couldn't continue. That bungalow was nothing special but I guess you're paying for that amazing view each morning.

I think steady Eddie is going to find his happy place when visits Lamai in Koh Samui. Chaweng is nice but Lamai is the place for steady 👌

I wouldn’t stay in Haad Rin myself, probably the worst place on the island in terms of atmosphere! The western side of the island is way more beautiful, unique and interesting 🧐 I’ve been to Ko Phangan twice, once around 6 years ago and more recently and thought Haad Rin was not the place to stay, yes it has a nice beach, but if your older there are far better areas of the island imo!
That little bungalow on the beach looks perfect.
I overcome the no fridge fiasco in the Philippines by filling my backpack with ice and drinks , worked great 👍
Do the Pre departure Test in your own country at least you find out well before if you have Covid of course in that 72 hour period you might pick up Covid, do you own check on that day with a ATK test yourself.As if you fly into Thailand and they do the Test for you on arrival and you Test positive you are stuffed completely at your own cost.If you have the Thai insurance see how you go with that as many Tourists have been out of pocket in the long term and many Tourists are on a short Holiday for 2 to 3 weeks which that hurts.Ok for me as of many who stay for 3 months which is great.When it comes down to it Get Rid Of The Thai Pass completely and all that goes with it.

The second one was good . Loved the view. Wow . Still to much money . But what rhe hell ! I'd stay there for a few nights . Maybe a week if I had a guest ! Lol .
